-stainless steel versus silver accents
-cost of pearls
-difficulty of construction
-time involved
I have not yet made a piece of jewelery without real freshwater pearls in it. Every necklace and bracelet is strung on stretched silk thread and knotted between each and every bead. The silk is for strength and durability; the knots are so that if it breaks, you only lose one bead.
You can ask me for a necklace I've already made, which you can find here and here, or you can tell me what colors you like and I can design something to your specifications.
Here's how the design process works: You tell me what, in general, color of pearls you'd like, how many strands the necklace should be (not applicable, obviously, for bracelets or earrings), and whether you'd prefer silver or gold accents. I design something and send you a picture. You either
a) approve the design, in which case I tie all the knots and finish it, then ship it to you, or
b) deny the design. Tell me what's wrong with it, and I can either change it or start over. Once the changes are made I'll send you a picture, and you are allowed once again to approve or deny it. You can do this as many times as you like, until the design is perfect. Then I do the knotting and finishing and ship it to you!
ALL jewelery comes with a lifetime warranty; you ship it to me, I'll fix it or, if it's irrepairable, remove all the beads and remake it and ship it back. You'll pay shipping to me, and I'll pay to ship it back to you. Sounds pretty fair, right?
